2021 is one of the worst years for the indigenous peoples of Paraguay

Abstract

In July 2021, different indigenous peoples of Paraguay are living a critical and painful moment, added to the pandemic, which exacerbates the neglect towards them. However, this does not mean that they were previously doing well. Not at all. It means that, as bad as they were, they are now going through a more intense crisis, mainly due to the excessive ambition of some members of the surrounding or white society (Brazilians, Brazilians, Brazilians and Paraguayans). In their eagerness to have more and more, they use all kinds of legal tricks to evict them from their lands and degrade them socially and culturally, before the complicit eyes, the inaction and the "arms down" of the authorities.
